From its inception, many years ago, the Imo State Public Transport system has been entirely traditional in its revenue collection efforts.
Revenue was collected by foot soldiers of the government and coordinated by the National Union of Road Transport Workers. These agents were distributed across all stops and authorised to collect fees on behalf of the government.
The government soon discovered that the agents had been infiltrated by non-authorised persons and revenue had dropped drastically.
It became a no-brainer to change revenue collection methods.
A small team of 6 was brought together to proffer a solution. I served as the lone product designer and make-shift product manager.
